Michigan Creativity Association
Jackson started as a participant in the Michigan Destination Imagination (MIDI) program at six years old. He was on a competitive team from ages 7-14, attending Global Finals 8 times and earning a couple 4th placements, as well as Spirit of DI and Instant Challenge Champion awards. After his team dissolved in high school, Jackson joined the board that hosts the program in his state, Michigan Creativity Association, as the first Student Representative, and has been serving in that position for the past 5 years. He is proud to mentor Engineering and Improv teams in the mid-Michigan area, and helped start the Mason Public Schools' first DI program. Jackson hopes to help continue to grow MIDI.
Competitive Work
Jackson prided himself as being a detail-oriented, skilled structure builder in the Engineering challenge, as well as being energetic and fun-loving on stage.
His creation of a device at 13 years old to lift 35 and 45 pound weights independently is some of his best constructive work. Jackson was also self-taught and created photoresistor triggered special effects for use in performances.
At several Global Finals tournaments, he connected with "Buddy Teams" from South Korea, China, and Ukraine to share culture and experiences, and connect over creativity.
Jackson's teams were awarded the Spirit of DI and Instant Challenge Champion awards at Global Finals, as well as receiving several Davinci and Renaissance awards over the years at Regional and Affiliate Tournaments.

Volunteer Work
Jackson specializes in the Engineering and Instant Challenges, and travels across mid-Michigan to mentor elementary-level teams. He has also worked with the Improv Challenge, specifically with the program he helped start at Mason Public Schools.
As a Board Member, Jackson volunteers as an Instant Challenge appraiser at Regional tournaments across the state, and helps host Instant Challenge practice events for MIDI teams advancing to Global Finals.
If you've ever seen a "GF5500" button around at a Global Finals tournament--Jackson helped create that! He is a proponent and advocate for making creative problem solving programs financially accessible, allowing as many participants to experience DI as possible.
